06 Block Heater

Can anyone tell me what I can expect to see from the block heater on my 2006 2500 CTD. This last winter I was very disappointed with it's performance, it would take almost as long to get to full temp. as if I did not plug it in. At least I always some heat from the start.

If it gets cold where you live in the winter then you may want to buy a winter front as I did and it helps to warm the engine up faster. Also if I only plug mine in for 3 hours with my winter front and over night lows down to 10 degrees I can have 68 degree or higher heat a mile from home with only 2 minutes warm up time.
