It's that time, I need ball joints.
Are the XRF units, top and bottom grease-able?
Or must you get the McQuay-Norris if you want grease-ablility?
Are the McQuary-Norris equal to the XRF's?
I see they come with a life-time warranty but who wants to do ball joints that often.
Feedback requested please.

I have XRF ball joints-and the bottoms are greasable, but the tops are not.

I have to admit-they've been in my truck now for 14 months and the tops already have about 30-40 thousandths worth of play in them. Despite my calling and emailing XRF to see what they consider out-of-spec for warranty reasons, I've yet to get any answer from them.

I don't want to pull them and put in a new set, only to have XRF then tell me that they're "within their spec" and so they won't honor their warranty. I cant imagine that 0.030" would be considered in spec, but I've seen and heard stranger things when it comes to front end component specs.

Maybe my experience with them is out-of-the-normal, but when I replace them I might just consider putting in another brand's ball joints. I guess it just depends on how full my fund pond is when I finally get around to doing it

I have bottom XRFs and they are not greaseable. 06 ram

 

Do you have a 4x4? Or a 2X4? I think the ball joints are different depending on the driveline.

 

I have a 4x4 put XRF'S in the lowers and Carli's in the uppers.Carli's are greaseable but are twice the cost of the XRF'S. So far I think I put 30k on them and no problems.

 

On the 4x4, anyway, the bottoms are greasable, tops are not. I had to relieve the axle housing with a Dremmel to allow the grease gun to fit over the nipple.
