Won't Start

I went to start my truck tonight. It would start and run for 2 sec. then shut down. I did see a red flashing light in the cluster. Is that the security, and how can I reset it?

Neighbors '07 did the same thing. We tried the spare key and badda bing...it worked. Turns out the something or other in the key went bad. See if it set any codes then try the spare key.

I checked for codes and found none. I did try my spare key, but nothing.

If the red light is flashing(and shuts down after 1-2seconds) it is a security thing. Try the reset thing, if not, might need a dealership to reprogram the security/key together. Might try to give them a call and see if theres something to try from home first, before you have to tow it up there

I got my truck back today. After 3 weeks to the day she is home. What wound up being the problem was salt rot from our fine upstate New York winters. The tech found the problem was the TIPM ( total intergrated power modual ) had a lot of salt rot in the conections. Several of the pins were so bad that 6 of the pins stayed in the plugs when He removed them.

I feel sorry for you northern boys.Just the thought of what all that salt does to the body and underside of your new trucks makes me sick.I am a clean freak with my truck and there is no way I could subject my truck to those conditions.I would have to have an old beater to drive during the winter.

Glad you got it straightened out.
