Wix Fuel Filters

Just picked up filters for oil change and fuel filter on my truck. The gave me the same Wix filter as normal, but with an XE after the number on the fuel filter. They said it was a new upgraded filter. when I tried to install it, it wouldn't clip into the top of the screw-on cap where the other filters have mounted. It was smaller. There was a slip of paper with the filter stating to push the filter down into the lower bowl until it clipped in. To my knowledge there is nothing down there to clip in. Has anyone had any experience with this new Wix filter? I took it back and got the original filter.

I have been using wix as well and they gave me one of those smaller diameter ones as well, Was told by wix that the old filters were making pumps go out? so i went with what they said and installed it and now that my truck is at the ******* they wont cover it under warranty because of it

there is a list somewhere on here of acceptable filters, and i do believe wix wasn't on it...the xe version is microglass, lower micron rating...For warranty reasons i dont put anything on my truck that will give them any ammo. when out of warranty i will be adding a primary ff/ws by the tank. When they put a new cp3 in last year i asked them about a 2mic setup and got laughed at by the service manager....i want to set it up now but my hands r tied with possible warranty denial like u. I just cant figure out this stupidity. An i do belive dealers do the work deny warranty, bill the consumer, and get reimbursed by dodge.

One thing bad about Wix fuel filters is that they are not listed as a water/fuel separator thus they don't meet Dodge or Cummins fuel filter Spec. The only filters that meet fuel filter spec are Baldwin PF7977, Fleetguard Stratapore FS19856 and Dodge brand.

Wix usually has quality filters. I know they make filters for CAT and NAPA gold and the CarQuest premium andI thought they made fleetguard. Like all the others they make them all to a certain speck. I work across the street form a International dealer so I have always used the Fleetguard.
