Will limited slip additive hurt my 06 differential?

I just changed my diff fluid at 23k miles. I put amsoil 75w90 severe gear in it, and I also put the slip lock additive for limited slip differentials in the rear . I figured I should do it since I have the limited slip rear end, but what I'm hearing now is that you're not supposed to put that stuff in it. But I think I read that Amsoil puts that stuff in their severe gear oil anyways. The truck drives fine, I just don't know if it's such a big deal that I should drain and refill without the additive (i.e. is it going to hurt anything). My gut is telling me it doesn't matter, and that they're just saying no limited slip additive because none is technically required. The truck is an 06 auto 4x4 4.10 limited slip rear. Thanks!

Should not hurt anything. It is not need because the LSD is gear drive not clutch.

slip loc

keep adding it and it might go away..... i had the same problem with amsoil.... they say one 4 ounce bottle per 2-4 quarts? thats a big margin in my opinion..... i put 4 bottles in mine! But then again i run maghi's Call Randy's gear and pinion they will talk you through it......mine only chattered when i turned left? also do the figure 8 turns they ask you to on the back of hte slip loc bottle it opens and closes the clutch pacs

Mine was chattering on the Dodge 75-90 so I switched to Mobil1 85-140 and cleared it up.

I wonder if there is a compatability issue with the synthetics and the LS additive? I don't know what that stuff is. It must just be an extremely high pressure lubricant of some sort.

There is NO clutch's in a AAM posi unit used in 03 up trucks.Mine chattered on left turns and BAD after pulling 10k for several hours at interstate speed.I added a 8 ounce container from a Advance store.Never chattered again.
