Wild loud backup alarm

Well theres been some talk on here about the 2006 truck freeking out when you back up without seatbelt on and door open. You know the horn blows the lights flash , and all the bells and whistles go off!! Some people would wonder why one would operate the truck this way. Well you do when you spot , or hook up your tr in a campground . And believe me the neighbers dont appreciate it. Well I bought a set of seat belt extentions, makes the seat belt more commfy, and much easier to hook up and NO MORE WILD ALARM SYSTEM.

So if your seatbelt is on the horn won't beep if your door is open and in reverse? Maybe I can just get a buckle to leave in, I hate this feature to the point I thought of trading...

I bought the extenders from my dealer. They make the belts much easier to hook up ,and are more comfortable after there hooked up. There about 7-8 inches long, then you hook belt into end of extender. Much easier to hook up and does away with all the horn blowing and flashing lights, when you back up with door open and seat belt unhooked.

I bought the extenders from my dealer. They come with the heavy overload springs, retractable rope ladder etc, on the SLT "Pick-up a FatChick" option package...............

bluepp, what did those cost you? Can you get just one from the dealer of do you have to get a set? I'm sure the issue must just be that there's something plugged into the buckle which disables the alarm. Depending on what they cost you, I wonder if aftermarket extenders would also solve the problem....probably would. I'm willing to do anything to disable that stupid alarm. Those of you who don't have an '06, I can tell you...I really believe this may be the worst feature DC ever put in these trucks. It's absolutely HORRIBLE

Rick. Yes you can buy them separate. About $15.00 for one. On my last 3 new vehicles the dealers gave them too me just for asking. But I had to remind them that they were suposed to be free if the customer asked for them.??? This time around the dealer said they quit giveing them away??

Trying to see how close your bumper is to the Accord in the spot behind you.

Especially if you have a Quad long, cause the truck almost doesn't fit in the spot to begin with.

Also if you have a toolbox or aux fuel tank that partially blocks the mirrors.

And I thought the chime for not wearing your seat belt was bad.

Let me give you an example, You back the truck up to the trailer, Your close you go back and look , you lack 4 inches , you jump back into truck to back up 4 inches, if you dont close the door( or) hook seat belt the whole world comes apart. Like ( HORN BLOWS, FLASHERS FLASH, LIGHTS FLASH) !!! Now when I do this and need just 4 inches, I watch the ground in relation to a given spot on the truck to estimate the 4 inches . No way do I want to be bothered closeing door or hooking seat belt when I'm only going to move inches. My trailer is a 35 foot H-R and there aint no way your going to move trailer in any direction to get it on the ball . You gotta put that ball right under there.

I thought I was the only one

Bluepp, I thought I was the only one who looked at the ground like that....Works well don't it.

You guys realize if you look in the owners manual, you can program the seatbelt alarm OFF! I am sure you could probably do the back up too. I haven't looked yet.

Cant be deactivated by some keyfob trick....Heard that the dealers wont even eliminate it....Somebody is going to have to come up with a fix before we all go nuts
