Why No Talk About the New Cummins "600"??

I've been reading all about the new Cummins "600" with 325 HP and 600 lb-ft. of torque over on the Ford site, but have seen no mention of it here (unless it is hidden in a thread I haven't read). Surely I'm not the first one on this site to read about it. How come no one is talking about it??

THIS is just one of MANY articles I've seen talking about it (most say the same thing word for word).

Kind of makes me wish I had waited another year before buying my truck. :-

The picture of the truck in the header got me to making some calls. When I went from my Z71 to the Camry, they said rates went up because of more potential for injury in the car. Now they say repairs cost more on a truck, so my rates would go up if I bought one. The thieves get you both ways! Anyway, I did hear about the Ram HD (600) coming out in '04 1/2, so they gave me a reason to wait. Maybe til 95 to make sure the bugs are out. Suppose to be some tranny upgrades as well.

Hoss you really think you are gonna feel a few more HP and a bit more torque? Trying to keep up to the Jonses??
I could care less about a bit more HP. I drove my old IDI 7.3 in the early '90's and they did me just fine. What were they 145 HP?? If this Cummins and Dodge truck is as reliable as those old girls were THEN I will be happy.

Well...yeah....but if I do feel it it's going to be from BOMBing my truck, not getting a new one.

Re:Why No Talk About the New Cummins "600"??

I sure like the thoughts of 325/600 in a stock truck. And Cummins would be my 1st choice if I had to buy a 1st year run engine. But I'll keep my Y2K ETC with ~300/650 r.w.h.p. as long as its reliable. Its been paid for since April '03, and now its got only 57,000 miles. I'd say I'll have it for a while. And why not? Its a perfectly reliable cream puff, putting money in my wallett. I'll keep it until the warranty is gone, at least. And then I'll keep it as long as its a good reliable engine. I may have it for another 10 years.

Anybody heard what the h.p./torque #'s will be on the 2015 model? ;D
