Who has towed with JR?
Going to be heading out on a 2400 mile round trip with my 06 and JR installed. Going to be pulling a 26FT 7.5ft high by 8.5 ft wide v-nose sled trailer with five sleds in the trailer and one in the truck along with 4 guys and all of our gear. Running from MN across ND through MT and into ID, leaving ID and running to WY south through Jackson. Just curious what to expect (mainly egt's) through the hills and what kind of mileage. Trailer weighs around 9-10K full and the truck info is in my sig, no XZT at this time just the JR. Thanks for any feedback.

Pulled my 9,000 lb travel trailer through the wind and rain last weekend with JR on 100 h.p. level. Never hit 1100* pulling some mild hills here in SoCal. This programmer is perfect for towing. I just wish I had a built tranny so I could really put my foot into it and see what she can do.
Oh, and I think I actually saw better mileage than previous trips without Smarty JR.

Your are braver than me Pauly, towing on the 100HP level takes some serious self control. Should be fine one the 70hp level then I assume. Thanks for the reply.

I'm real easy on my truck. I think I've only true floored it 2 or 3 times in the 2 yrs I've owned it. I'm harder on the suspension and the body more than the drivetrain.

I have done a little, not much, on the 40hp.. Dad has about 1500 on the 40hp, thou not in the hills.. but neither of us have broken 1000 towing yet...
There is a guy on one of these boards that has towed 26K on 40hp and didn't break 1100 on a 7% grade.

I towed around 12K the other night 45 miles round trip. This trailer has a large wind profile too so it has some drag in addition to the weight. Cruising temps were 800 or so, 900 on mild hill climbs. Really getting into the throttle after stopping at stop signs I maybe touched 1100 once. I couldn't believe how cool it was. This was with the 70hp towing tune. Power was great. Even geared as high as I am it had no problem in OD lockup shooting up to 70 mph.
