white smoke, bad idle

i tried to do a search for some answers but couldnt quite find any of the same symptoms and any answers....

this morning 3/17 i cranked er up and instantly blew white smoke and idled really bad. so i drive about a mile not faster than 35 pulled over and it was gone. i did drive in from lake charles on tues 3/16 so maybe i picked up some fuel with moisture... thats all i could think of. the truck threw no codes when i cycled the key, and has never had any fuel or eng related problems. so i bought some iso-heet and some additive, and went and refueled immediately. been driving today and it hasnt done it again.

what do yall think?

Could be injectors. My 2006 did the same thing. First time two injectors were replaced. The second time, all six.

Have you changed out your fuel filter recently?

You may have gotten a bad batch of fuel with water in it...

If neither helps, bad injector(s).

had the same issue. went and checked my injectors all were running >100% except for one. dealer said use some fuel additive and once every full tank or so go from a dead stop to 80 mph with the pedal to the floor. it 'cleans' out the injectors. i haven't had a problem with it since.

Mine has puffed a little white smoke on start-up every since i owned it. My second gen. would do this 100% of the time during every start-up. My 06 really only does it when engine temps are 70-80 degrees. If the heater grid comes on, no smoke. If its above 100 degrees, no smoke. My truck is not "making oil" either. I'm under the impression my symptoms are normal. My advice to you would be check the oil often to see if your "making" any oil. If you are, you got problems. There is numerous threads about this problem on here somewhere. Its been discussed alot.
