I've been told adding ANY heavy oil (2-cycle, filtered used motor oil, etc.)to the fuel of a HPCR diesel engine is a very bad idea. The stuff just wasn't designed to be squished at 24,000+ psi and can cause very rapid injector erosion and may harm the CP3. I don't want you thinking you've got a newbie telling ya what you should/shouldn't do with your truck, just thought you might want to know. Them sticks are mighty expensive!

Very strange. My mileage went from 16-17 average to 13. Tried two tankfulls of fuel no difference. New fleetguard air filter, stock tires properly inflated. ULSD,but been running it for over a year since that's all that's available here. Not throwing any codes. It has been in the 90's here. I'm even running the speed limit!

Could be the heat. All I can say is that my transmission has some new parts and I'm expecting to see good things in the MPG dept. I am driving with a MUCH lighter foot and actually getting better acceleration. My stock 48re was just KILLING my mileage.

Man what a screwup! My trip computer was on metric. I switched it back and mileage was 17.5 mpg-normal. My right arm is in a cast and I guess I accidentally hit the wrong button.

Good for you admitting that! I'd rather have that happen and feel dumb for a minute than have a real issue with the truck.

Well, just a little report back here. My transmission was DEFINITELY a large factor in my poor mpg. I have not driven it enough yet to get any concrete numbers, but I can already tell that my mileage has greatly improved, possibly in the 1-2 mpg range.
