Whats the torque sequence for injectors/tubes?

when i goto put my injecors back into my 2004.5 what is the sequence? do u first drop injector in and roughly point nozzle hole towards tube hole? then put tube in snugly and make sure u watch injector to see if it straightens out? then snug injector hold down? then give tube final torque? what are the torque specs or procedure for this? i dont have it in my haynes manual.

No problem. From what I have read here, most guys don't remove the rail like it shows in those instructions. They just pull the connector tubes.

My injectors are going to Don in 2 weeks, so I have been doing a lot of searching and reading too.

I'm pretty sure you need to remove the intake horn and grid heater to get at the connector tube running underneath it. Someone else could verify that. I have read that if you pull the intake horn/grid heater that yo ushould replace the gaskets with new ones.

Yes, you have to remove the intake heater to get the #2 connector tube out. Normally when we replace injectors we remove the rear engine lift braket and put a washer on the stud to space for the inj. line brace.
1. I normally tighten all injectors to 42 in/lbs.
2. Install connector tubes with the ***** facing straight up, install nuts and torque to 420 in/lbs
3. tighten all injectors down to 89 in/lbs.
