What are these sensors?

What are these sensors?
Changing my oil the other day I noticted 2 or 3 sensors right underneath where the oil filter is. There were wires plugging into something.
Does anyone know what these are and does anyone else think that is a bad spot to put those?
i dunno know just me maybe?
