I can actually use the remote start like a turbo saver. I just set it, go inside, and shut it down a minute or two later. Works like a charm.

For those of you who don't like the mud flaps and are getting there Bed liners sprayed in, why not go ahead and spray your rocker pannels with a bedliner material while you are at it?
Sure it will cost quite a bit more, but it will give you much more protection, the look of a two-tone paint job, and plus you can even add custom emblems into the material by either adding a cut out emblem with tape and removing the tape to expose the original paint under it, or doing the oposite and makeing the emblem with one coat of the bed liner material, removing the tape and spraying right over it with a 2nd(or more depending on how thick you want your emblem to stick out of from the rest) coat to give a convex emblem that bulges out from the rest of the material.

And as for adding things to your new rig? How about a tablet? This way you can keep a record of your fill ups, repairs, fluid changes, fuel mileage, dealer visits, and pretty much everything you do and buy for the vehicle. This tends to add quit a bit of money to the vehicle when it come to trade it in on that next vehicle, like a 2007 450 Hp cummins-- we can all dream.

Excellent idea. I never thought of that. I hate the look of flaps but would like the paint protected. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!
Always have a book on the truck from first to last fillup, all repairs etc. It does make 'em worth more when u sell them.

Re:What Are the "MUSTS" That I Need For the New Truck??

After driving behind Push Rods truck [dually 4x4] and it has no mud flaps...I can see yet another reason to have them...as a courtesy to other people behind you. Those tires throw a lot of debris.

This warranty stuff is getting out of hand on both sides.
It ticks me off that people want to BOMB their trucks and then go to the dealer to expect them to repair/replace if they knowingly have or had[hidden or removed] performance mods on their truck. I tell the dealer up front whats been done and leave it with them and DC to decide. Only once have I had a warranty claim on my truck and I fully expected to get denied. However, since there has been issues with the part in question, it was covered.

I think that DC/dealers have taken so many stings for stuff that the policy now is you are guilty before anything is proven.
If I was a dealer I would be exercising caution but not total fear when I see a vehicle come in to the shop. I know that the dealer gets charged back for the denied warranties.

I have my doubts about the filter failing the turbo unless there is proof that the filter was defective. In that case I would be going to the manufacturer of the filter. The Dodge factory air box is not within spec on all trucks.

So how does a filter ruin a turbo? I am anxious to see how DC handles failed turbos once the EGR gets here...will they turn a blind eye to the exhaust gas recirculating through the system?

Just turned over 100,000 kilometers on my truck...all of which have had an AFE filter on it. No failed turbos.
You wanna play be prepared to pay...but play smart. :

Robert Venable,
For some spraying the rocker panels may be OK. Where I live it is worse than nothing. During our rainy season, the spray of Sierra Mud from potholes is difficult enough to wash off from a smooth surface let alone a textured surface. I'm sure those living above the forty-eight, our Canadian Brothers also know the problem of mud removal. I drove the Cassiar Hwy and enjoyed the trip, except for the mud. After two washings the smooth surfaces were clean, however, took six months to remove from textured surfaces on RV.

Those of us tow a 5er, which in many cases cost considerably more than our Ram, need to protect it. Mud flaps are the practical solution to stop flying stones to the rear..
