Amsoil 75w-140 synthetic in the truck.
I have Amsoil in everything and the guy who sets up my race car ring & pinions loves it too!

Mobil 1 75W-90 for me. I had AMSOIL 75W-90 in it and was warned about it prior to use. Used it anyway and experienced gear chatter. If you insist on AMSOIL, put some additive in it, but AAM specifically states not to use anti slip additive. So, out with AMSOIL and in with Mobil 1.....have not had any problems since......great stuff and readily available in your local auto and department stores.
I hear AMSOIL 75W-140 does not produce the chatter however, I personally do not want to use that particular grade gear oil for my application......not saying anything is wrong with 75W-140, just saying 75W-90 is what I want to use. Also, lost confidence in AMSOIL after my experience.
I am not flaming AMSOIL!!!!! Just my bad experience with it in the differential......others have experienced the same thing. I still use AMSOIL in my motorcycles but I'm switching over to Mobil 1 V-Twin next change.
Just my .02 for what it's worth.

Mobil 1 75w90. I had amsoil series 2000 75w90 and it made noise going around corners, stunk to no end, and left my diff dirtier than the original fluid or subsequent changes of m1. Not to mention the fact that the m1 is compatible with our warranties, I'm sticking with it.
Sounds like mobil 1 75W-90 it is. I cant seem to find royal purple or redline in my area. I know, order it. I can't see the need to order it, then wait 3-5 days for delivery. Comes out to be the same or more cost wise if shopping local.
I am about to change mine out too, for the first time. I am trying to make a decision on which one to use. Sounds like this thread is leaning toward Mobil 1 75w-90.
Ok, im not mechanic here......so can somebody tell me what the difference is in the 75w-90 vs 75w-140? Is the higher number, "better" for some reason?
I just got my Mag-Hytec rear diff cover today so in a few days im making the switch.
Is there any other to consider besides Mobil 1, RP, Redline, and Amsoil?
