what could this ticking be???

when i start my truck up for the 1st time everyday, there is a ticking sound that comes from the driver side of the motor it seems...but once i put it into gear and start moving it quietins down. or once i drive about 1/2 up my road and stop, it has quit by then...wonder what it could be? i've just noticed it here lately since its gotten warmer

Not sure if this is related, but I notice a relatively quiet ticking sound from mine when I hit the remote start (during the waiting period before it cranks). Once the engine cranks there's no way it's loud enough to hear so I'm not sure if it continues or not. Maybe some trucks just have a louder tick? Mine is a very quick/rapid tick.

Yeah, maybe it's just a relay somewhere in the remote start system?

The ticking you hear before starting the truck is the injectors purging the air from the system.

The ticking you hear after starting I'am not sure about. let me think for awhile maybe something will click.
