Went to the 1/4 mile for the first time

I finally got the gonads to drive 2 hours away to run an actual 1/4 mile track, and this happenes! I blew out my freeze plug and lost all my coolant. how likely is it a blown head gasket caused it? or do the freeze plugs pop out cause of coolant pressure from rpm?
My time was good tho, but could have been better. this run was set at #1 timing, #3TQ, #3RP, SW9, no nitrous
And what is a good fix so this doesnt happen again?

I don't know it's very doubtful, seen alot of freeze plugs go on these cr trucks. Just unfortuanate you are running a beta tune when it happened. Looks like tonight there has been 3 guys that sound like they need some serious help.

There is a block off plate that takes the place of the rear freeze plug. It has a 1/2 pipe tap in. From there you run a 5/8 heater and Tee into the return line of the heater core. the one that goes to the thermostat.

Without Nitrous your truck straight up runs. Nice #'s. Hope you get the freeze plug figured out.

That was about 12 PSI. i wasnt really ready, the car next to me staged too far up i was waiting to see if he was going to back up, but the official told me to move up instead, i dunno why...i was pre-staged right, the other car was staged wrong.

I want to order the block off plates, but how many do i need. i read somewhere there is one in the bell housing?? total of 3? is that right?

Just one for the rear freeze plug. It keeps the coolent from deadheading at the back of the block.

I have mine blocked off right now, but I think it just moves the weekest link somewhere else. If you reroute the coolent you take care of the weekest link.

I had an s-04 when they first came out and made some hard runs and popped my rear freeze plug. the dealer wanted 1500 to fix it because they wanted to pull the head. It's not covered by warranty unless it's under 36k. I pulled my downpipe off and put the new plug in which is a few thousands bigger and a 1/2" plate bolted into the two holes in the back of the block wish the other fix was out at the time. I believe running more RPM's at full power put's more stress on everything and the water pump is centrifical so it's spinning harder causes it. IMO. I can't wait for the R program now to put my RPM's back to 3200 unless I really want to sled pull.
