Waterpump failure at 113K, should I replace tensioner, belt and pulley also?
Looking for some recommendations on this repair. Just a tick away from 113K miles on my 2003 2500 and the water pump has failed. Should I also at this time replace tensioner, drive belt, and idler? I bought the truck 11 years ago with 78K on it and presume these are all original parts excluding the drive belt which I replace in 2009 just as a precautionary measure. Also, should I use OEM Cummins parts only (I can buy at dealer cost +10%) and a Mopar drive belt? Just looking for input and what guys in this forum suggest. Thanks much!

I would replace the belt while you have it off. Tensioner wouldn't hurt, but my 04 is still on the factory one.
Ounce of prevention...
And keep the old belt in the tool box as a backup.

I would highly recommend replacing the stock belt with a Goodyear Gatorback belt. I had one on my '98 12v for over 180,000 miles and it was still in good condition when I sold the truck. It also eliminates the infamous engine shut off "chirp." Gates also makes a premium belt, but I'm not familiar with their part number.
