water in fuel warning light question.

Ok guys, I'm new to this world of the dodge diesel. I was driving along last weekend and the water in the fuel warning light came on.

When I got home I drained the filter and got a total of about a half a cup of water out of it.

So here's the question. Is there anything else i need to do?

water in fuel

Yes call your dealer most 06's have a recall in order to put drain lines on the top side of your fuel tank where the vents sit and can allow water in, also I have a good friend who his 04 got water in the fuel, ruined an injector among other things and was stuck with a costly repair bill, So be carefull where you fuel up.

'03s to '05s have the same problem, yet are not part of the recall. Anyway, it's a simple fix which I did myself thanks to this board. Also, keep your receipts from fill ups so you can go after the station if you get a load of bad fuel which causes expensive fuel system problems. Lastly, get a locking fuel cap ($15 from Mopar) so they can't claim contamination by vandalism.

I have not done the vent mod. How common is the water entry problem? I drain mine fairly on a fairly regular basis and have yet to see any water.
