So my buddy bout a brand new 2005 CTD and he just took in to the dealer the other day because he said the turbo was making some noise. Well today they call him and said that the intercooler was bad and they werent going to warranty it because he has exhaust and an aftermarket intake.. Whats with that?? Its not like he has twins on there. I didnt think putting a straight pipe and a air intake would ruin a warranty??

 

It can vary from place to place. Personally I prefer not working on trucks that are modded when it comes to warranty issues. It can be trying enough to figure out some issues in stock form let alone trying to work on something that you have no/little info on.

....and if it were one of those beloved plastic intercoolers I would change it without a second thought.

Tell him to "shop" around. Bet there is someone who wants to make that money.
