Warranty Repair Damaged Truck

Does anyone know if the dealer damages parts on your truck during a repair,
will Chrysler reimburse the dealer for the cost of the replacement parts needed to finish the repair?

i.e. if the parts needed due to the damage caused by the dealers mechanic are not included in the original repair procedure how can the dealer order them under warranty?

Thanks

I do not know but if they caused damage they have to fix it, or at least I would think that they would have to. What did they damage?

If they damaged it and you can prove it, Id stay on their case until they fixed it.

Damaged done to your truck while the trucks was in for a Dodge Warranty repair, must be covered by the dealer service department insurance. That is, if you notice the damages before driving the truck off the lot and this damage was not done by you prior to you delivering the truck for service at said dealership. So, always inspect the truck, prior to driving the truck off the dealers lot for non-reported defects in said service invoice. Other-wise it will be hard to prove that the truck was damaged while in for service.

If the dealer tech breaks a part while performing the warranty repair work, he may be able to replace the boken part under the warranty claim. Only if he admits to his fault. However, I know a few scaming dealerships that try to make the customer pay for the technicians damaging actions, claiming the customer must pay for it. Always request to see the damaged parts if possible, prior to paying for services and dispute any unneccessary charges. Pay with a credit card, so you may dispute charges and have them removed if your claim is found to be valid.

Yes, this is a lot of work, but we have become a nation of "who cares" and "whatever" when comes to being responible for our actions. This lack of responsiblity has allowed our craftsmanship, quality, and pride slide to unacceptable levels. Why do you think we lag behind the rest of the world when it comes to quality, pride, and craftsmanship. So, STAND UP and BE A AMERICAN! Make them responsible for their actions and make them pay for it.

Thumbs up Whoops

Ditto....In most cases the dealer will have what is called a policy account. The department has to absorb the cost of the parts, which are usually sold at an agreed level between the parts manager and service manager. The tech is usually only out their time by not being paid to do a job, wheras he could be on another paying job.
