Want to swap out 6 speed for auto. who has done it?

I have the 6 speed NV transmission with a Southbend DD clutch. Whn I got the truck, I liked the idea of a stick. That idea is gone now. The ONLY thing I really am tired of is shifting and loss of boost between shifts.

This is not my daily driver, so time is not an issue. Looking for advice.
Thanks.

It makes no economical sense. The conversion will cost alone for the parts involved would be greater than the value of your truck. If you want an automatic, sell your truck and buy one. I have done these things and in my statement I have completely ignored the cost in time to locate and then acquire all the necessary parts nor did I consider the 100's of hours in doing the job.

If you need a donor we can work something out. I'll be happy to swap my auto for your manual.

I have too much money into it that I would never get out of it. For example suspension lift, body lift, totally rebuilt engine with les than 1000 miles on it, new turbo, etc.
I don't mind spending $$ on something I will appreciate in the long run. I've had this truck since it was 2 years old, I know everything that has been or hasn't been replaced and all of the work has been done by me. That makes it more valuable to ME.

I would be very interested in swapping parts as well. I really really wanna go six speed. I really miss my six speed. Like you I have no interest in trading trucks, mostly cause they didn't make many Laramie Megacabs with sticks. I am in north west Iowa.
