Wow must be a bad vibration keeping you away from the keyboard weeks at a time. Are you complaining or wanting help with your truck? If it is help then maybe you should be more active with details in a timely manner.

Re:vibration still there.....

there was a post about placing a 1/2" shim under the carrier bearing and having that solve the problem. I think it was fiverbob that had this done.

Re:vibration still there.....

Yes that shim was for a shudder problem, mine also shudders
I know its the drive shaft, im going to fix that when i get a chance. The vibe im talking about is at 2000 rpm.I think all the trucks are doing it.

And for you spot I have a job and dont sit in front the computer all day.
Just letting everyone know that this vibration is not going away with mileage

You need to complete your profile with a signature describing your truck so we know how it is equipped.

No, not all trucks have a vibration at 2000 rpm. Mine runs very smooth at 2000. I have 26,000 miles on mine.

Hey buddy we all work. Come follow me some day. You'd probably drop. My point was if you needed help we are sure glad to help but you gotta want to help yourself also. Brief posts, 2 weeks in-between postings.....if it were a serious problem I would think you'd be on the net more figuring it out.
BTW a rpm specific vibration will rarely if ever be a drive-shaft (as you pointed out) My truck has no unusual vibrations at 2000 rpm...
If you want to post more info, we shall try to sort it out for you. Have a good evening...... :-

Re:vibration still there.....

I now have almost 4000 miles on my new rig and I have experienced this vibration since day one. It appears at about 2100 rpm's or 73 mph. I called the dealer and asked them about it and they said, "We've never hear of that problem before." I have been reading multiple sites and numerous people have been reporting this problem.

I figured I would join the list of concerned owners and hopefully I can provide some useful information to the experts. I do not view this as a major problem however it is a concern of mine since my typical cruising speed on the highway is 75mph.

Re:vibration still there.....

FiverBob has not had the shim done - - been on the road having fun. Mine is still sssshhhhhuuuddderrrriiiinnngg when towing in 1st and 2nd gear. I also noticed it a little last week on a 12% grade doing it in 3rd gear. Just got home and I will pursue the problem this week. The dealer was supposed to be gathering details for me.
I still have the chattering at lower rpms. Really sounds nasty outside. Go around a corner, drop down into 3rd, lightly step on the go pedal and it rattles/chatters/buzzes, whatever. Don't like it - - sounds like another brand of truck (nope, I didn't say it, Jack. :P :P ) We must pursue that problem also this week.

Re:vibration still there.....

My 2000 rpm vibration is in the drive line some where. If you get up to 80 mph and put it in nutral and coast I get the vibration around the same speed 70 mph. If I get to 80 and turn off the motor the vibration is still the same around 70 mph. This tells me that the vibration is somewhere from the transmission tailshaft through the transfer case into the driveline. I am on my third drive shaft. Had the tires force balanced. And it goes back to the dealer again Monday for the vibration. I would like to get e-mail from people that do not have the vibration to see how their trucks are equipped and when and where they are made. This would help me out.
