Vibration during acceleration and deceleration
Vibration during acceleration and deceleration
Truck has 61K miles and just started to have some vibration during acceleration (from a dead stop) and deceleration (not too bad but enough to be noticable). Feels like its coming from the drivetrain. What's the possible cause of this and is there anything I can check before I take it to the dealer? The truck is still covered by the Chrysler "bumper-to-bumper" extended warranty that I paid for when the truck was new. If it's a U-joint or something along those lines that has gone bad, is that covered by warranty? Any input is greatly appreciated.
Not sure on the warranty but I would bet money on 1 or more u-joints being bad and possibly a carrier bearing.Last I read if it is warranty the dealer will replace the entire drive shaft and carrier bearing.Do a search on u-joints.You will find alot of reading.
sounds like driveshaft u-joints to me also. slight change in driveshaft angle durig accel or under decel can make them complain. look for reddish dust on the u-joints, or drop the drive shaft and give the joints a feel if you want.
