Vibration at 65-75mph
I have a lower speed on and off buzz type of vibration and another at the 70 range that seems more like driving over bumps that makes me think of those cars you see driving around with a broken shock. I am sure none of my tires has that kind of movement but it sure does feel bad.
The hose clamps worked for me as well.
I first had 3 on the rear driveshaft, one on each end and one in the middle.
I dampend the vibe by about 50%. I ran like that for 6+ months, until I read this thread and put 2 on the Tcase side, one on the diff side and none in the middle.
Left them somewhat loose so they could rotate on the shaft as it was spinning kinda like the centermatics on hubs, went on the highway, ran at 70 and the vibe was 95% gone. Removed the one on the diff side, 70 mph, didn't make it better or worse. Went home, tightened the clamps. Done.

As tires wear and get pounded by pot holes, the belts move and cause issues that balance will not fix. sometimes you cannot measure a difference in runout, but the tire will have strong or weak areas that act the same as balance.
I recently started suffering with the same issues, I took the truck into the dealer and there is a TSB that replaces much of the front steering assy. It seems to have cured the problem and looks to be quite heavy duty. I only have 17k miles so it was covered under warranty.

SAME HERE !! I posted this in another thread but this one really applied better. Same Vibration as a lot of folks (55-75 or so) After narrowing this down to the rear shaft (one piece) by pulling the front shaft with no diffrence, and replacing the joints with no affect, i had the rear DS balanced by a local driveline shop that does my rock crawlers shafts, he was suprised to see 8 larger factory weights on the stock shaft 4 front, 4 back, he spun it and worked on it for a hour and wound up pulling all the factory weights off and put 3 smaller weights on, 2 in the rear 1 front, he said it had to be out of balance from the factory and said sometimes it has to do with the way they install the ujoints but was unsure if that was the case here as i had already replaced the ujoints with new spicers, I havent ran the shaft yet but there was a very marked improvement with the shaft on the machine it was vibrating pretty bad when i took it in and was running very smooth when he finished it.... hope thats it and will post up as soon as i can get home to run it...
i have the same problem i just bought a truck and it has 65k on it. My vibration is from 70-80 then goes away i do feel it at lower speeds if i really pay attention. I have been searching and searching and found this so hopefully i can get this fixed. If so i will love love love the truck.
My 06 did this for about six months. I finally got sick of it & jacked up the rear & ran it up to 70. It was like it was coming apart. I took out the rear shaft & it stopped. I then put two hose clamps around the shaft. It was worse so I rotated them a little & tried again. It was better. I kept moving them & now its all but gone. I.m going to have it balanced next week.
