Cummins didn't have to get my parts from the factory and it was a loaded head that I ordered(even though the cummins parts guy said it wasn't). Now I've got what appears to be a new head with new valves and springs. I should get it back together tomorrow.

Why couldn't you have the old head fixed? Most machine shops can put in new seats. Just seems like it would have been alot cheaper.

Time to get it done and the idea that the rest of these seats had seen the same heat cycles had me worried. it would have been about the same or more to have new oversize valveseats put in.

She lives again.

I got her up and running this evening. Sounds good and it didn't even smoke when it first started. Now I just need to get her washed and steal my tires back from my dad.
