Turns over will not start

I have a 06 truck that will not start, it turns over but will not start. I change the oil on a sat, drove the truck around town with no problems. On sun tried to start the truck just cranks over. I checked for codes on the scout (none) then checked for codes at the dash (none). Towed to the dealer, they checked for codes and none showed. They are doing a test on the fuel pump and the injection pump to see what the pressure is. I do not trust the dealer, if you have any ideas or had this problem let me know what needs to be fixed. The truck is stock not changes to the eng.

This may be a case of excessive injector return flow. This would require capping off injector lines (one at a time) at the rail until you find the injector(s) causing the no start condition.

Also, be sure to check the batteries for a weak charge condition. Check both as one may be weaker than the other. Be sure to thoroughly clean the terminals and each of the ground connections.

The dealer said the pump in the tank needs to be replaced, I asked about the injection pump, they are working on the costs. If the pumps are out shouldn't there be codes or check eng.

Not always a code on the lift pump failure.
If I may suggest...go with an aftermarket pump as this is a good time to do so.
My 5.9 07 had a failed in tank pump...I opted not to pay close to the same for a factory in tank pump and went aftermarket.

Dealer called,to replace the in tank pump and the injection pump $4500.00 with a reman injection pump. No way I'm going to pay $3300.00 for a reman pump that I can buy for $800 to $1000. Dealer working on a better price. Thanks for your reply.

By knowing the cost for a pump, the dealer reworked the price, now it will be a total of $2855 for everything.Still too much but due not have the time to do myself.

Did they say there was something wrong with the injection pump? You might just need a lift pump only any that would save a lot of money.

Lift pump takes fuel from the tank to the injection pump. Injection pump charges the fuel rail to up to around 26000 psi.

Why needs left pump and injection pump at the same time?
Did they troubleshoot/diagnostic the problem or just replacing parts and collect money from you?
I would run away from them.

I will say that there is a 99.9% chance your injection (CP3) pump is perfectly fine! Change the lift pump and be done. Like said above, now is the time to go aftermarket as well.

Sounds like the dealer may be replacing parts in an attempt to fix the issue. Does this dealer have a diesel mechanic? If this truck truly needs a lift pump, go with an aftermarket pump.

The truck has 155000 miles on the pumps. The dealer was told by the factory to test both items for the amount of pressure they made. The fuel pump still worked but only made #5 of pressure which made the inj pump work to make up for the low pressure. I have read on this site in the pasted,if the fuel pump goes out it will cause the inj pump to go out too. If I had the time I would do the work myself.
