Turbo Post Lube Accumulator
Turbo Post Lube Accumulator
Does anybody know of a company out there that has a post lube accumulator for the CTD? My wife drives this truck during the week and I'm fairly confident that she doesn't let it cool down before shutting down. I have actually caught her doing this twice..... Of course I get the standard," I usually do, but I just forgot THIS time" response!!!.. AARRGGHH!!!>..
If I could get ahold of a check valve and an accumulator, maybe a couple of high pressure hoses and some mounting brackets.. It shouldn't be that hard to do.. I like my interior stock and really don't want the aftermarket guages/pods in it. That would help those of us who don't want to try and explain EGT's and cool downs to the other halves!!!.. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I thought about that. But, I'm already on a first name basis with the local lock smith. My wife has locked her keys in EVERYTHING we own. House keys in house, car keys in cars(running cars and NOT running cars) Maybe rather than fixing the CTD I should try once again to fix the wife!... Wait, thats impossible!. <jk>
it would be easy enough to make a kit..
accumulator [spring type i think would work best] check valves, one snubber, several tee fittings and some field serviceable hydraulic line & fittings
the snubber is to slow down the oil flow into the accumulator. don't want to starve the charger of oil during startup, but it will still flow oil to lube/cool the charger once shutdown. idealy a choke/check could be substituted for the snubber, slowing the oil flow in, but allowing full flow out..
cool down timer would be easier though.. accumulators are not cheap either [+$100 for small throwaway diaphragm one]

Blue, I could go with the 10 speed, but then there won't be any warmup at home!!!... In fact, i'm sure it would be AWFUL cold in the bedroom!.Think I'd rather buy a turbo.
