turbo inlet silicone boot size?

I looked but didnt see the answer I'm looking for.

I'm using a 2003 3rd gen turbo on a swap and I need to adapt a 3" intercooler tube to the 2 1/2 " turbo inlet. I am having trouble finding the correct boot to do the job. I purchased a 3" to 2 1/2" boot but it doesnt fit over the rib on the inlet

What size do i need to go over that rib and still be able to clamp it down good

thanks

Not sure what you're working with but my 03 turbo was 3" but my A2K is 2.5" and it came with a 2.5" to 3" steel tapered connector and 1-straight 2.5 boot and 1-straight 3 boot and clamps. I recently blew the 2.5 boot and found new stuff at an industrial hose vendor. Their 2.5" hose fit my 2.5 turbo fine. It was snug but it went, even with the hairspray getting tacky! I hope this helped. Craig

Well at least I'm glad that I measured it right. I dont know what to do except try another boot. It is a stock 3rd gen turbo with a 2 1/2 " tube but the rib measures closer to 2 3/4"

thank you

Try dipping the end of the tube in some hot tap water right before trying to install it. I read that somewhere else and it makes sense.
