Turbo already has a threaded plug in the downpipe?

Turbo already has a threaded plug in the downpipe?

Is this for a pyrometer? I have read the pre and post exhaust gas temp threads , is it just a matter of what I want ? Sorry new to the truck still and wondering thanks.

Looks like that is where you would put the pyro. Did you buy the truck new or used? It sounds as if someone has done this already for you and then took it out. I'm guessing thats what its for though.

thanks CD , yeah I bought it used and it could have had gauges in it , the 5r hitch was removed before i bought it.

I'll bet ya thats what its there for. I'd go ahead and use it. Now you don't have to drill it and worry about metal shavings!!! Wish mine was already predrilled.
