Truck missing on start up.
Truck missing on start up.
My '03 just started missing on start up after it sits a while. Sounds like an injector isn't working, after a minute (or less) it smooths out and runs fine. Any suggestions?
mine was doing the same thing, dealer replaced 2 injectors and the pressure relief valve under warranty, and it still does it.
i'm thinking of bringing it to another dealer to have the injectors checked again. mine only does it after sitting overnight, and clears up in about 15 seconds, but if there's still a bad injector (or more than 1) i'd like them to take care of it while i still have some warranty left.

My truck does exactly the same thing. Also mine will do it if I stop for fuel and let it sit for about 10 minutes or so while I fill the tank. The dealer installed two new injectors stating that two cylinders were not at peak performance. After he fininhed we were all standing around talking and then when I fired it up to leave it did it again!!! It was closing time and I was in a hurry to get home so I told him I would be back later. That was two months ago and I just keep putting it off. I hate going in for service.
It dosen't do it very often, and when it does it clears in less than a minute and runs fine. Some forums you can read where it is said "this is the nature of the beast" and the problem is never resolved! I don't buy this theory and just think it will take better skills to fix an intermittent problem. So sooner or later I'm going back in and let them try again. It's an 05 with 31,0000 miles but out of the 3/36 warranty and on the 7/70 deal.

(except for being out of warranty)
i also think it's an injector problem, and would like to see if replacing all 6 would solve the problem.
I had the same problem. First they replaced #1 injector, next #4, then finally #2,3,5,6.
It solved about 99% of the problem. Before the injectors were replaced, it would do it almost every time I started the truck if it had been driven and parked for a short period of time. It still will start rough occasionally, but only about once a month or so.

it's not the rough start up that bothers me, it's worrying that there is an uderlying injector problem causing it.
Same thought here. The rough idle goes away, I just worry about how much is this going to cost next!!
