Truck feels like it's got no guts!
I've got 92K miles on my truck and for the last 10K miles, I feel like the truck is losing power. The truck starts and idles fine. I does put out a white poof of smoke at times, but as of yesterday, it's putting out dark smoke after a restart.
What I mean by restart is this. Lets say I drive to work and let it sit for a few hours then get back in.... When I get moving again and I give it more then the normal take off throttle, I get a good dark cloud of smoke. After that on dark cloud, I don't get any smoke no matter how hard I get on it.
What could be causing this problem??? Could my lift pump or maybe an injector be going bad? Is there anything I can check here at home?
Thanks!

Might want to check the fuel filter if you hadnt already, then the lift pump. Sounds like the fuel pressure is fluctuating some (bad lift pump). I would rule these out before looking at injectors.
I tried a new fuel filter and it didn't make any difference. I guess I'll need to get it into the shop for them to test the pump.
BTW, is there a way to check boost here at home?

Well if you have a boost leak you would probably hear it blowing air when you boot on it. I blew my intercooler and it sounded like I cut the end off my air hose. The other way is to get a boost guage.
