Truck died!

I searched around on here but can't seem to find any answers, so here's what happened. Drove my truck most of the morning, was moving some cows and was mainly idling around slow. Truck ran fine, never has had any sort of problems prior.
Anyway came back to my yard to get something and as I left my yard my truck just quit, just like I had shut the key off, still had power to the dash and everything, it just quit...
I towed it back to the yard and pulled the fuel filter out, even though it didn't seem like it ran out of fuel, with the filter out I drained the canister, then shut the drain and cranked it over to see how much fuel I had coming in. After cranking about 3 seconds on the starter the fuel canister was about 1/2 full.
I put in a new fuel filter and that is where I am at now. Still no firing at all.
There is no codes at all, everything appears to be normal (except for the fact it doesn't run)
Its a 2006 3500 Diesel

Start checking fuses under the hood and in the cab. Also check the main power supply to the fuse/relay panel under the hood.

Start there and report back.

Sorry, I should have included that in my first post. Before I did anything I checked all of the fuses under the hood, everything is 100%. You mention fuses in the cab, where are they?, I was not aware of any in the cab.

I should add that the truck has 95000km on it and is still on warranty. I live a long ways from the dealer and the dealer is too busy to look at it for a couple weeks, so if I could diagnose this at home it would be nice.

Does it spin over and not fire off or does not spin over at all?

It spins over real good and fast lots of juice in the batteries. No firing whatsoever.
I tried my spare key in it also, in case it had something to do with the security, it did not make any difference.
I am totally stumped.
There was some wet snow up on the drivers side of the block, and all the components on that side where a bit wet. I can't imagine that should be a problem, I have wiggled all the plugs that I could find, and its been in my heated shop now for about 4 1/2 hours, so it shouldn't be a moisture problem.

The ecm is mounted on the driverside of the block, was there snow on that? Pull the plugs on the ecm and check for moisture. Even though it is in you heated shop there could be a small amount within the plug causing the issue. Inspect the pins and condition of the contacts while you have it unplugged.

There had been snow on it.
I pulled the plugs off the ECM, blew them out with air, the pins all look straight, no indication of any problem, I gave each one a shot with WD40 for good measure, and put them back on. I also did this with every other plug I could find.
Still no codes, no start.

Another thing... If I loosen the feed line from the filter to the high pressure fuel pump I have good pressure, but if I undo the high pressure line from the pump to the rail, I have no fuel at all when I crank it. That doesn't seem right, what possibilities would cause this?

I cant claim to know much about the cp3 and related sensors, but i thought you should see at least some fuel flow. Maybe its so oddball problem where the gear came loose on the shaft. Ive never heard of it happening and have never had anything to do with the pump (just left it attached to the gearcase when i overhauled my engine) but it would be easy to check. Just pop that little plastic cap off, have someone crank the engine while you watch with a mirror. Like i say its doubtful, but easy and free.

I wonder if the FCA would cause this?

The FCA is spring loaded to the full flow side. It would have to be stuck in the off side to do that. Unplug the FCA & see if you have flow then, or see if it will start. You'll have a code, but removing voltage will put it to full flow. If it starts it will rattle like a 12 valve, but it won't hurt anything.

I unplugged the FCA and still no start, I unplugged it and loosened the line to the rail and still no fuel out of it.
My guess is something in the CP3 must broke.
I'll try your suggestion krh.
Also I guess I'd better call and get her to a dealer.
I'm glad I kept my ole faithful 1995 5.9 diesel around, so I'm not truckless.

Try bumping the starter, you should hear the lift pump buzzing in the tank for about 20 seconds or so. I've gone through 2 in-tank pumps.

After a fuel filter change it takes about 3 or 4 pump cycles without actually trying to start it before it will run smoothly.

My lift pump is working well. If I remove the filter it well overflow the canister in about 5 seconds.
I pulled the plastic cover off the front of the CP3 and it is turning the gear when I crank it.

I had a similar scenario a while back...Driving along at highway speed and truck died with a puff of white smoke. Turns out the #2 injector failed wide open. This caused a low rail pressure problem so truck would not start or run.
