Transgo tips (speaking from experience)

The transgo kit is a great improvement over stock for sure. i am very pleased with it and would do it all over again (and will be for a buddy of mine). there is a few things that i could help a couple people with that may save you time and effort. i replaced the servo, accumulator band strut and anchor by the way. so a couple hints for those who are skeptical about doing this.

1. When removing the valve body jack up one of the rear wheels, and spin the driveshaft while pulling on the vb to release the parking rod. this way you dont have to pull the e clip off.

2. install a drain plug in the pan you will be happy you did they are like 10 bucks from b and m.

3. i had problems with getting mine into park after i filled it up and was ready to go. so i had to drain all the fluid. the problem was i didnt bend the "arm" enough so the thing wouldnt engage into park. also i bent a bracket somehow when pulling the linkage off.

4. Lube up the linkage (drivers side right above the pan) with some pb blaster or something else mine was a pita to get out.

5. remove all of the linkage assembly connector and parking selector. all the stuff on the drivers side that is external on the trans. it also might be easier to remove the driveshaft if you can get this off.

6. keep everything clean cleanlyness is key

7. if you get a new servo right by the accumulator pocket there is a hole you can blast some air in to free up the old one.

8. When putting the servo in take your bottle jack from the truck (passenger side under seat and a claw hammer and compress the spring and servo cover into the hole. be patient as you might break a sealing ring if you get to ancy. i didnt have anyone to help me so i thought of this all on my own. hold the cover in place right in the middle, with the bottom side of the handle. jack slowly and use a small scredriver to slip the sealing rings in to the bore they will go just be patient. then slip the lock ring on.

9. make sure everything is hooked up i forgot to hook up the only plug on the outside of the trans and it was throwing 5 codes
Well those are a few key points that a few people helped me with on here. i didnt install the green tv spring for later upshifts and i only drilled 1 hole for tc lock up as well.

hopefully this helps someone else as it has helped me a lot
