So i was at work yesterday and i was going to leave with a trailer on(about 12k) and it was kinda muddy out as well. All was fine until i started spining a bit. When i went to take my truck out of 4WD it would not. So i had to unlock the hubs to drive it. So i looked at of the fuses and the connectors on the shifter and then i took the shift encoder off. I had a buddy switch it from 2WD to 4WD and it moved fine. Then i left it for a minute and it started doing the same 2WD-4WD-2WD-4WD and it stopped in 4WD. So i still cant get my truck out of 4WD(yes i did it manually, i ment electronically.). Does anyone think it could be the shift encoder, Has anyone ever had this problem? Let me know soon as i need to get this figured out.

I gotta lever. Haven't heard of it. Try searching the forum if you haven't. Might have to let the post set for a while and let more people see it. Bump it a couple times once a day to see if you catch anything. I know in my old Silverado, the button assembly had to be replaced with similar problems. Actually pretty cheap. Less than $50?

 

Ya i did the whole serch thing but nothing came up and i searched through the posts back to 2006. Only reason i ask is cause i dont want to but that part as its not cheap and they dont let you return electronic parts. The part is worth 650 canadian and thats why im trying to make sure/see if anyone else has had this problem. Its not that i cant afford the part, but it would be a waste of money to find out it wasnt the problem.

Didnt get time to chris. I got a used one today that im gonna try tommorow to see. Couldnt turn it down at only 150 bucks to try. Hopin it helps solve the problem.
