Trans work this weekend

Getting ready to do some trans work this weekend. Governor pressure solenoid, transducer, and filter swap. Also going to install a drain plug in the pan. Looks like the work is pretty straight forward. Any tips or tricks I should know about? Where is the best location on the pan to put the drain plug? Some say on the side others say on the bottom.

On the plug, differing opinions for different reasons; choose the one you are comfortable with and go with it.

I like the bottom, but I have a DD maghytec.

Everything went as planned. What a difference in the way the trans works with the upgraded pressure solenoid. Nice firm shift and no more 1 and 2 shutter. Should had done this along time ago

If you really want to make it feel good, add a Transgo shift kit the next time you're in there. Will also help it last longer.
