Trans temperature

Ok Yesterday I got my 3 gauges installed & my new "a" pillar mount in my truck. I got boost, Pyrometer & trans Temp & got the Trans Temp Sending line installed for the most accurate reading. WEll Right after I picked up my truck started driving around and stopped at the first light & the trans temp rouse all the way to 250. Now I don't have any mods on this truck except a afe intake & these gauges & I wasn't towing anything. Is there something wrong with the gauge or the sending unit or does the temperature at this point always really hot? It's also really hard to think that the TRansmission at this point can get that hot before the truck even gets to normal operating temperature on the stock temp gauge. Please help!

On my trans temp gauge mounted in the trans to trans cooler line the temp never gets over 180* normal city driving empty. Sounds like something is not right to me. My guage will read barely over the 140* mark on the highway emtpy and ranges from 140* to 180* daily driving.

when i hadmy probe installed on the tranny pan (quadzilla/commander) never ever saw temps above 130 degrees. two weeks ago i moved it to the "hot side" with the new tranny line i bought from diesel manor. i now see temps exactly the same as ramswheelsby4.

That tempature don't sound right. Here is a pix of mine. Hot day in Arizona, been on the road, and now is stop and go traffice on I-10 out of Phoenix. Not sure, but think mine is mounted on the line to the cooler.

A hand held IR thermometer like from Radio Shack is a handy tool to have. Pull the tranny dipstick and read the tempature of it with the trans fluid on it. See what it reads. Good luck.

Something is not hooked up right. If transmission was that hot the red dash light would have come on and transmission wold have shifted differently. Could verify by feeling dipstick 250* would be very hot and noticable. I hope it isn't your contol module, you will have to replace the gauge, module and probe. They are calibrated all togeather, at least on mine.

I talked to the installer today and he is going to call autometer tomorrow about this. Maybe its the gauge , the sender or the wire gauge from the sender to the gauge. I know also that its not that temp actual in that line because if it was I wouldn't be able to touch that line after I shut the truck off and I can. Thanks for all your help.

Are you sure that they are callibrated all together? I thought they could just send you a new amplifier box. I believe thats all ISSPRO uses in the box is an amplifier to change from the low voltage readings of the probe to higher voltages to run the guage. I had a ISSPRO pyro amplifier go bad and they sent me a new amp is all.
