trans shift problems
The governor pressure solenoid is used to control the gov pressure, variable settings based on feed voltage, there is only one of them and a transducer that reads the pressure for feedback.
well all you people that said replace the gov. sol. that didnt fix the problem repaaced them twice thinking they were bad. 2nd time by dodge shop the same problem is atill there. what they told me was that the valve body was bypassing and that was causing the problem. i found a posting here that said the same thing. valve body came in today AM and i am waiting to hear from them.
alright, changed the governor pressure solenoid, transducer, trans filter, and trans speed sensor today with no results. mine is an 06 automatic 4x4, any other advice? it never threw a code either...
also, a transmission guy that my mechanic recommended said to adjust the front band (said it was a torque screw held in place by a 3/4" nut). said to loosen the nut, and then tighten the torque screw until it barely bottomed out, then back off of it 1.5 rounds... where is this located? do i have to drop the pan again to do this? i looked and didnt see this adjustment screw
Whats the problem? Never saw where you described exactly whats going on and why it doesn't seem right.
its an automatic, when i put in D and depress the pedal it has to get up to about 22mph (rpm's go up), then i release the pedal, and it sill shift to second (usually is no problem except starting on hills) is a nightmare to drive when trying to tow a 7x17 lawn care trailer. all other gears shift fine when/where they're supposed to...

Are you wanting it to shift sooner? later? What pedal are you releasing and why? Accelerator? Brake?
How about manually shifting it, does that work correctly or do you think there is an issue there? Just trying to understand why you think there is a problem.
Still not understanding what you think the problem is. Unless you do something to modify the shift strategy its going to shift to second around 22-25 mph, thats using the torque to get the load moving.

when i press the gas (especially under a load) it strains to get to 2nd gear, and the rpm's seem to go a lot higher than what i would expect... when it gets to about 22mph, i have to release the gas pedal then slowly depress it to get it into 2nd gear, and then just barely press the gas in order to prevent it downshifting...
That sounds like a front band problem, either out of adjustment or its toast. You do not have to drop the pan to do it. Look on the drives side of the transmission right behind the front cooler line output, you will see the stud that takes a torx bit and the locknut.
Loosen the lock nut till its about even with the end of the stud, tight the torx stud to 72 inch lbs (or just good and snug with a 3/8 ratchet), then back it off 1 3/4 turns I believe. Tight the locknut while holding the torx stud in its position. You may have to play with the back off a bit to see if a little less with work. No more than 1 3/4 no less than 1 1/2 turns or it will be too far out of adjustment.
If you have 2-3 threads still showing on the stud your ok for now, less and either the front band is shot or there is a problem with the band sturt\anchor\lever setup inside the trans. You would need to drop the VB to see all those pieces.
