Trans controllers for an 03 Auto????

Havnt had a cummins for a while, but picked up an 03 with an auto... The trans has around 9000 miles on it, but it has a really hard time deciding to shift from first to second... It has no slippage when it shifts, it just lets the RPMs come up really high before it will shift.

Who makes trans controllers and what are my other options?

The truck does have 80 horse injectors, and a chip... But the chip is off 99 percent of the time.

Thanks!

Doing a little more research, the trans is the 47RE... It sounds like it could be the Pressure Solinoid as you seem to have to let off the throttle for the trans to shift from 1st to 2nd...

Also, how much would a shift kit help with these... I was thinking about replacing the solinoid and doing a shift kit over the weekend.

Two things to check, TV pressure or kick down cable setting and gov pressure solenoid.

The TV cable set to tight will cause late upshifts. At WOT throttle you should have at least 1/8 slack lef tin the cable as a starting point.

The gov pressure solenoid is the other place that will cause these symptoms. Replacing it with one of the aftermarket solutions is a good choice.

A shift kit will help your longevity immensely and handle the extra power without destroying itself.

Upgrade and or replace the tranny fast
With the chip and upgraded injectors you need the tranny to be able to handle the power. Hopefully you installing an intake and opening up the exhaust also.

I've done it all and now I make 245hp 477 torque at the rear wheels
but when I turn the Banks to level 6 I get 323hp 601torque
Feels good, now I just have to take it out for a good tow to really test the tranny.

I used to have an 02 that put down 552 rwhp, but that was a 5 speed truck...

What is a good Gov Press Solinoid to use?

And yes, it has an intake and exhaust as well as a full array of gauges... lol.

Lastly, I do a lot of work with the Lenco in my race car... How difficult would installing a shift kit be in this thing... Can you do it yourself, or shoud I take it in somewhere.... Oh, and what brand shift kit is everyone using?
