well boys.. i finally tore into the transmisson and sure as heck the flat bar + spade style adjustment parts were laying in my trans pan attached to the magnet lol. i had to drop the valve body to get them both back in place, all went smooth until i went to put the shift linkage back on the trans.. i noticed it has a notch in it so that the linkage can only go on one way.. but **** i cant seem to get it lined up for the life of me. Kinda a tight area to boot lol any tips on gettin it on there? i have the bolt backed all the way out but it still seems to be too tight ..

btw it went smoother than i thought it would.. thanks guys for your input..

 

check and double check the alighnment of the linkage rod, sounds like it's not engaged properly on one end or the other. Use needle nose vise grips... easier to hold and move without your fatt fingers getting in the way. Without seeing it upclose, I can't really give much advice... Sorry
