Trading tires at dealer?

Just curious if anyone has looked into swapping tires when you pick your truck up for the first time from the dealer? I'm just curious if the Dodge dealer would take the brand new stock tires off the truck and let you get a set of 315/70/17's (or 37/12.50/17's ) and let you just pay the difference in cost? I tried to get the Jeep dealer to do a tire upsize like that for me when I bought my '99 off the lot (came with 205 series tires!!). Since it already had 30 miles on it, they said no. Anyway, when I get the truck, I'll be going to something in the 35-37 inch range immediately, so do any of you know if any dealers will do this? Thanks.
Chris

Just my .02 ;D

If dealers have a shop that deals in tires, they would be more likely to go for such a deal. It gives them an outlet for the tires they're left with - a way to get rid of 'em.

Dealers are more likely to go for tire/wheel package swaps. Several of the members here (including me) have done this. Then, the dealer is not left with product to dispose of.

Best to y'all
Bill

Wow, nice truck, Bill! Thanks for the info! I'll just ask around in the area to different dealers then and see how it goes. Thanks again.
Chris

Check your local tire dealers also - usually they will give you something for brand new takeoffs. You will not get what the tire is worth, however. Usually around $75 per tire is what I have seen.

That's an idea, too - hadn't thought of that. And actually there is a big Tire Discounters right across the street from the dealership.
Chris
