To trade or not?

new to posting , been reading this forum for years. Have an early 04 2500 with 150,000 miles, bone stock. I rip off about 1000 miles a week light towing 4000-6000lbs. I have replaced in the 132,000 I have owned the truck, both front axle u joints, water pump and 1 injector. I average 12.5 pulling heavy and 14 with my work trailer. 90% of mileage is interstate. have run and still run various additives, lucas, powerservice,tcw3, alternating among the three. Have had the BG decarbon service done once. My truck is my business lifeline, like many of yours. My question is I have an opportunity to buy a 2005 with 36000 miles. trading diff. is 15,000 total tax and all. I am trying to decide whether to make the deal , and lose 114,000 miles. Do many of you have 200,000 or 300,000 miles on your 03 or 04? What kind of major expense(besides lift pump, I've still got my original) could I be looking at down the road? If my truck was trashed it would be an easy decision, but it's not, heck I'm on my 3rd set of front pads and have never turned the rotors, never been aligned, great truck, but when do you say when. Another big concern is not getting the same fuel mileage. Any wisdom, guidance or criticism would be appreciated.

hey all i've got to say is if it isn't broke dont fix it. if the engine is running great and you love the truck why chance it. now i could see if you were starting to have some problems then trade but you've got a solid engine under that hood so I would just leave well enough alone. besides that you know what you have and how the trucks been used where as you dont have a clue if the '05 has been chipped out and flogged notice how there selling now that it is out of the 36,000mi warrenty

I'm in the same situation with close on 140,000 miles on the clock. Dealer is ready to take mine in against a brand new 07 5.9 for $21,000.
I'm stressed out thinking if I don't pounce now, I'll never get a chance at buying new 5.9 ever again. Then again for 21k, I could have a second used truck sitting in the drive as a spare............

I agree with cummins freak, if it aint broke dont fix it. I cant speak for myself but my cousin has a 96 2500 with the 12 valve 5.9 in it and he's got 350,000 plus miles on it and still runs just as strong as when he got,and he bought it used. I know there,s a big difference in model years but still if you only have 150,000 on it then id say drive her till there aint nuthin left.
