Towing weight reversed HO 2500/3500
Just looking over the 2003 Commercial truck brochure, noticed in the specs that the towing weight for the 2500 series with an HO is less than the SO. On the 3500 it is exactly the opposite?

ie. 2500 SO MTW Reg. Cab 4x2 13,850
HO 13,650

3500 SO MTW Reg. Cab 4x2 14,350
HO 16,200

Is this a typo by D/C or can someone explain. TIA

???
Re:Towing weight reversed HO 2500/3500
Maybe you are comparing a 3.73 and a 4.10 rear end on the 3500. The 2500 difference is probably the weight of the 5 spd versus 6 spd transmission?
Re:Towing weight reversed HO 2500/3500
It doesn't mention the rear sizes. It only compares the payload, Max Trailer Weight and GVWR. BTW the payloads are the exact opposite on the 2500. The HO has a higher payload than the SO for all truck types. On the 3500 series trucks the payload follows the MTW for the reg. Cabs but inverts for the Quad. In other words the 3500 Quad SO has higher payload but lower trailer weight, HO has higher trailer weight but lower payload. The 2500 Quad SO has a lower payload and higher trailer weight, HO has lower trailer weight and higher payload. Clear as mud, right!
