torque verter lockup switch not working right

I put the lockup switch on my truck last night following this howto

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ferrerid=27932

it wont lock in until like 40 and it locks overdrive and it only does it part of the time.

on the round plug on the tranny there was a green and a blue wire, we tapped into the blue one.

any idea's on what is wrong???

Which method did you use? Did you check the FSM to make sure that blue wire is the CORRECT wire?

According to FSM it shouldbe the black/orange wire.

I posted this in another location too, but same issue, so same question.

ZacHolley, which resistor did you use?

Radio shack shows two different 33 ohm resistors on line with different part#'s
I assume I need the 33 ohm NOT the 33K ohm, right?
(271-1104 is the correct one?)

And, any more long term effects from some of you guys that have had this mod a while?

$0.99

33 ohm 1/2W 5% Carbon Film Resistor pk/5
Model: 271-1104 | Catalog #: 271-1104

Reduce the flow of electricity in your project with this 5-pack of 33 ohm carbon-film resistors. 1/2...
or

$0.99

33K ohm 1/2W 5% Carbon Film Resistor pk/5
Model: 271-1129 | Catalog #: 271-1129

Reduce the flow of electricity in your project with this 5-pack of 33K ohm carbon-film resistors. 1/...

Any guidence would be most appreciated!

Either one should work. The ECU wants to see between 5 ohms and 100k ohms resistance to not throw codes.

Could the Juice with ATT be causing an issue? Don't they control the Lock up or monitor it?

I believe this is the connector in question...funny, it doesnt look like this in real life
but anyway. just making sure this is correct cause the diagram shows the #7 wire to be YL/LB.................yellow/light blue...right?

as highlighted in the red circle:

Hope this scan is visible.

It should or you have the wrong connector.

Thats the correct wire to tap.

The plug at the back of the tranny is probably the output speed sensor. You need the 10 wire plug that is about the middle of the trans on the drivers side. It should be vertical and pointing up towards the floor boards of the cab.

Yeah, with the connector it is rectangular but the plug itself is a round configuration. See the picture above as that is the correct plug and wire color to tap.

I don't even want to guess. Sounds like you are getting the normal lockup operation.

According to FSM it should be the black/orange wire on the connector to the middle of the trans. Try that and see what happens.

no it is locking up once its in drive or overdrive it will lock about 40 then stay locked to like 20 where it starts shuttering hard.
