Torque Converter bleed down?
Torque Converter bleed down?
So I recently installed a Suncoast valve body in my 06. The install was done by Toxic Diesel in UT. Well the tranny shifts great and everything is much more solid feeling. But I have one problem. If the truck sits for more than 3-4 hours it seems that the TC bleeds down. If I put it in neutral for 10 seconds it fills the converter and all is well again. But if it sits and I just get in it and go from Park to Drive I have to feather the throttle to get the truck to move (which I never do), I always put it in N before I attempt to put in Drive. Toxic is staying behind their install and are trying to work with me but I live in AZ so its hard to just bring the truck up there for diagnosis. Something I can check here? I am mechanically inclined. I was up at Toxic towing a friend's truck up there for an engine rebuild and while I was there I said heck with it...throw a VB in it. Toxic is a really great bunch of guys but I wont be back up that way anytime soon so I kind of need to fix this down here on my own. Any ideas?
seems like all chry type trans have that problem. it started in 1966. we had all kinds of fixes from chry back then. what would work on one trans wouldnt work on the next. it seems to me they could have fixed it by now. i have 2 daily drivers that i built myself and they both do it. make sure it is full of fluid and use neutral to start and enjoy.
If it didn't do it before the VB install then its the VB build that is causing it. The fix for charging the TC in park is really easy and should have been done with the build. Depending on how it was done its possible that is causing the issue.
