i try to fill up about every other day when it gets to 1/2 or 3/4 tank, easy on the mind.

most pumps here in north Texas have gone to a $100 limit, there was a deal a while back on the news about it. so now i only have to run the card twice... PITA...

EDIT: driving habbits have not changed, but i have cut about 1 road trip a month out of my life . living the young life out of town almost every weekend

well...since one of the local stations here has a drawing for a $50 dollar fuel card with the purchase of 10 dollars or more in fuel, I fill up pretty much every day on the way home from work! The more receipts I have int here with my name on the back the better!

I try to keep it close to the top...mostly because my fuel sender is dying a slow death.

But the truck stays parked in the driveway most of the time. Working from home is a great thing!

If we spend $100 at the local grocery store, they give a 25 cent per gallon discount at their affiliated station for up to 50 gallons. I roll in there on fumes. They've got the best prices even without the discount.

Unless I am going on a trip I wait until about 1/4 of a tank and fill until pump cuts off. Most stations around here cut off at $75 but the one with the cheapest fuel cuts off at $100. When I go on a trip I fill to the neck so I usually have to use the card twice.

The only thing I can see is if you run around w/ hardly any fuel = less weight better MPG, but I seroiusly a 100 or so lbs would make a noticeable difference in these trucks

I agree, and if someone siphons your tank, you'll have to file bankruptcy. I've filled mine maybe a handful of time since owning it, and when I do I park it out back of my house, and not out near the street at night.

it is good to not let your tank go below half. there is a chance that you can start getting condensation in there on hot days and cool nights. also you should always run a additive. not because your truck needs it but because #2diesel is subject to algae growth in the summer and gelling in the winter. i use Howes in my tank. Not only does it protect the fuel but it helps with lubrication and fuel milage. when i did my fuel tank mod 6 months after i bought the truck i already had algae growing in my tank (not that much but enough to annoy me for only having it for 6 months).
