which tires
I have a suggestion - use the search function of this site - there's about 300 threads on tires. I'll try to summarize though:
a) Don't go any lower than a load range D, and E seems to be preferred - these trucks are heavy even when not towing or hauling anything
b) The most popular replacements seem to be Toyos, BFGs, and Nittos
c) If you increase size over stock, you can get the speedo/odo reset on most model years of these trucks, even though some dealerships will give you a deer in the headlights look when you ask them to do it. You might have to shop around to find a dealership that can/will do it. There has been some discussion on whether or not some of the later model years, especially 06 and up can have this done (up to a certain size of tire) - again I recommend you use the search function the webmasters have made available to all of us

I have the 295/70/17 Nitto's and have 15K on them so far. They are wearing evenly and I do have a good alignment along with rotations every 5K. I do however think that they might be a slight bit louder than the BFG's (had those too). All in all I am very pleased with them.

After searching all the posts on here and reading what they had to say I elected to go with the Bridgestone Duellers, I have to say I'm very please with them. Load range E tire with great wet weather/ snow abilities...not as hot in the mud but then again i'm not offroading it & Low road noise. Run the search function and you will find alot of opinions/experience with all brands.

Ive had the BFG's for about 5000 miles seem to be doing great so far. Really like them in the snow now. lot better than the stock ones I had on. And I like the look of the 285's
I bought the Toyo MT's fopr the E load rating. I may buy a camper in the future. I've run the BFG all terrains and got about 50k miles out of them--good wear. I only have about 8K on the Toyo's so I can't give you opinion on that part. The track well, don't make much noise, and look really cool.
