Tire size differences
I'm currently running 315/70R17s BFG T/As. Love the look on my leveled truck, its time for a new set of tires and I would really love to go to the same height tire but skinnier.
On BFGs site they say my tire should be 34.5" tall 12" wide, and as they sit on my truck they are probably closer to just over 32" I've read this before on here that they're stated height normally works out to less when on the truck.
So I talked to a tire guy I know and he came up with Toyo 285/75R17 A/Ts and on their site it says 33.8" tall. Just curious if anyone has these and if their ride height it closer to the actual stated value.
Thanks guys.

My Toyo m55s are less also than posted,I think if anything those sizes would be for an inflated tire not on a vehicle ,the more load you have on the tire the more squished it would be, so even if we both had the same tire, they could be slightly different diameters, especially if we had different trucks.

Good idea with the skinnier tire. I went from 305 to 285 and am very happy. Love my Nitto's so far (20,000 miles). Maybe if I had wider rims I'd go to a wider tire, but I load the truck heavy and narrow rims with a wide tire is a bad idea.

Finally got around to buying the new set of toyos. 285/75R17 ATs
They measure 31.75" on the truck. So both sets bfg and toyos lost about 2" from their rating once under load.
I think its a good choice. I wanted the height but not as much width and thats what I got.
