tips on getting the front axle nut off ????

I had to take mine off for the first time a couple weeks ago and used my 3/4" breaker and the fence post pounder as a cheater, no problems.
For the steering joint I shot it with some wd40 and it finally slipped out.

I was gonna suggest the same thing. In my limited experience, impact tools seem to do better than applying a constant torque for stuck fasteners.

ya.. but most folks don't have a 3/4 in or 1 in impact wrench.

so I just do it the old fashion way. 3/4 drive with cheeter bar
