Not sure what you're waiting to hear back about. Between this thread and 100 others like it, it's the general consensus that SouthBend is the preferred mfg. Single disk for quiet, pick the lining you want based on hp levels.

You said it's hard to get into 2nd, presumably at a stop? What makes you think you need a whole new clutch? Slipping, vibrating?

Whenever I come to a stop and try to take off on 2nd gear, it wont go in unless i keep the pedal pressed for about 5 seconds or less. I know the clutch slips because it cant put the power to the wheels. I can still chirp the tires, but when I am really on the pedal, I wont put the power to the tires. I am just not sold on the SB because of the clatter. Just got off the phone with a trans shop and he recommended the LUK pro gold clutch. He says he will not mess with SB because of the issues.

LUK is the OEM dmf provider.
I wonder if he's going to reinstall a dmf?

I have a SB OFE and it has worked good since I installed it. Has the usual small shudder on take off no big deal. Trouble is now it is hard to put in gear when hot. The disc is still trying to turn when the pedal is pressed. I believe the disc is not centering on the spline between the flywheel and PP. When I install a clutch I run the disc up and down the spline a hundred times to make sure it floats to the middle when the pedal is pushed. Now I may have to pay the guy again to take out. Could be pilot but it would have burned out by now. So I put it in 4th before trying first or second. That is also the symptoms of the classic loose bell housing bolts so will check that soon.
