Tie rod ends or ball joints
Tie rod ends or ball joints
Can someone tell me how to tell when tie rod ends or ball joints are bad? I am having some major issues with my front end and it all started after two cases of the death wobble.. Replaced track bar bushing and that fixed it.. Now I have a rattling noise coming from my front end when I hit bumps etc and I have a really loose steering wheel feeling.. Also when Im accelerating only on the gas I have a major vibration.. I mean bad!!! HELP ME PLEASE.. Could it possibly be the hub assembly??
jack the truck up.move the wheel up and down-this will give you an idea on the condition of your ball joints. now, move the wheel side to side- this will tell you about the condition of your tie rods. you want as little play as possible. with the oem parts- there will be some play.
Did that today.. All 4 ball joints and tie rods are shot!! ***** joints had over a 1/4" of play easy.. As for the vibration didn't mess with it any.. Gonna change out my u joint and see what that does.. Im not sure if my hub assembly are good or not.. I rolled the tire and felt the tire and it felt smooth like nothing was tore up.. How do you exactly check the hub?
